All-Natural Brand Development

Project Overview.
Kulisha Skin began in a group chat with 3 sisters Bea, Mwajuma, and Sabina Ramadhani. They shared a common goal to create and promote natural products for all skin types. The sister’s desire to learn more about natural resources for self care turned into an opportunity to create and educate through Kulisha Skin - a 100% all-natural homemade body butter packaged in a plastic jar container.

The project goals are to design a memorable brand identity and develop a fully responsive eCommerce website that will help build brand awareness faster. The brand identity, including packaging, needs to be on strategy to make the products stand out on the shelves of retail cosmetics boutiques. The brand identity will be designed with a hand-lettered logo to illustrate the homemade process of the products, and the organic brand foliage is used across all the packaging, differentiating the products dedicated to all types of skin. Their identity needs to attract the right audience, which is women between ages 20-40, passionate about health, wellness, environment, and earth.

With this being a brand new business, there was no present brand awareness. We planned, designed and developed Kulisha's Identity System an eCommerce Website. The brand aesthetic needed to feel natural, organic, and homemade to represent the Body Butter product.

The website, which was designed on a "mobile first" basis, has the task of extending Kulisha's influence and awareness, focusing on its values of bringing luxury to skin that is all natural.

Once Kulisha's brand identity is established, our team took to the website experience. It was important to create a clear, easy-to-use shopping experience for users. The website needed to stay on strategy, on brand, and on message. We always start projects with Strategy and Discovery. In this phase, we uncover project goals, brand story, brand messaging, and ideal buyer personas.

From there, we move on to Information Architecture (sitemaps, wireframes, and project specifications) and User Experience. Simultaneously, our content team will be completing whatever copywriting, imagery, email sequences, and editing required to fulfill the user experience. Next, responsive development begins and is followed by Launch and thorough Assurance Testing.
